Khmer Loeu (Khmer Tribes or Khmer Upper)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;They are the non-Khmer highland tribes in Cambodia. The Khmer Loeu are found mainly in the northeastern provinces of Ratanakiri, Steung Treng, Mondulkiri and Kratie. Lakes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;- &lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tonle Sap Lake&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;: This Great Lake combined &lt;a title="Lake" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake"&gt;lake&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a title="River" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River"&gt;river&lt;/a&gt; system of huge importance to &lt;a title="Cambodia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodia"&gt;Cambodia&lt;/a&gt;. It is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is an ecological hotspot that was designated as an &lt;a title="UNESCO" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNESCO"&gt;UNESCO&lt;/a&gt; biosphere in &lt;a title="1997" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997"&gt;1997&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;It situated in the middle of the country and is a most unique geographical feature. The Tonle Sap is 160 km long and 36 km wide. During the dry season, the lake covers and area of 3000 square km and a depth of 1-2m and increase to 16000 square km in rainy season and a depth of 12m. At the end of the rainy season, the flow reverses and the fish are carried downriver.The Tonle Sap Great Lake consists of the lake and a flood plain of interconnected streams, ponds, flooded forests and wetland vegetation that supports a rich biodiversity of species including; aquatic plants, fish, birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects and microorganisms.
